Overview
Another thing I was exposed to throughout my time at the AeroDesign Team was the process of manufacturing an RC model aircraft, despite it not being my primary interest. During my time as a general member, I learned how to and got experience with:
- Monokote and shrink-wrap plastics
- Wet layups
- Wet, vacuum-bagged layups
- Carbon fiber tube layups
- Hotwire foam cutting
- Balsa/plywood construction
- 3D printing
- Laser cutting
And have, therefore, gotten experience with:
- Power drills
- Dremels
- Belt sander
- Band saw
- Miter saw
- And more
I have also been involved with different types of model constructions:
- Monocoque fuselages
- Built-up fuselages
- Foam-core wings
- Built-up, composite skin wings
- And more
